Mini Brush Hog

There are several patches of periwinkle in my yard. They get overgrown by multiflora rose and japanese honeysuckle which are too tedious to try and uproot. So I mounted a weed trimmer on wheels, string set at about 10" high, so I can periodically cut them down and leave the periwinkle underneath. I used 1/2" EMT and a Maker Pipe kit. The EMT and fittings are definitely sturdier than PVC which did not hold up under the weight of the engine. Thanks for the idea!

A few didn't hold

I ordered a couple of these adjustable angle brackets and couldn't get one of the puzzle piece parts to clamp down tight to the pipe until my boy whacked it with a mallet and sort of bent it to make it hold on. Another piece I got that goes on the end of the pipe won't tighten down either. The pipe keeps falling out of it. I find a lot of the nuts don't lock down, twisting as you try to tighten the hex bolt so that makes it hard to get them tight enough. It's a brilliant idea, and in the end I think I'll manage to make my project work, but some of the parts missed their specs.

Maker Pipe used to Make a Spiral Staircase:

I was very pleased to utilize the products of Maker Pipe to conform to the handrail I designed and built for my spiral stairs. I shall show all interested a photo of the finished product. The bottom 1/2 of the handrail is 3/4" dia., while the top half is 1/2".

The handrail is very secure.
