Spring Cleaning and Garage Storage with Brent from BYOTools

Brent is based out of Seattle and has a background in building/contracting. His channel focuses on creating detailed DIY and How To videos. To find out more about him and his channel read his about page here. He built a fantastic mobile garage storage cart to hold and store spare materials. Check out the video or read about the materials and steps below!

We appreciate the kind words after Brent completed his first Maker Pipe project,  "I love showcasing new products and innovations in the builder space and this is by far is one of the most impressive systems that I have personally showcased on my channel.  It's quick, it's easy, the possibilities of what you can create and manufacture are endless..."

Brent used four 90 Degree Connectors to form the base of the cart.  Each vertical pipe has a caster in the bottom to make it mobile.

A cross brace was installed at the top of the storage cart not only for stability, but also for pull ups!  Impressive.

When complete this rack held over 500 pounds of spare materials and could be positioned anywhere in his shop.  Admit it, we all have one of these piles of stuff that could use a little organization!

To build this storage cart you will need the following:

  • 4 - 10' lengths of 3/4" EMT Conduit
  • 4 - 90 Degree Connectors
  • 4 - 45 Degree Connectors
  • 6 - Maker Pipe T Connectors
  • 1 Set of 3" Swivel Casters
  • Plywood for base
