The 90 degree structural pipe fitting makes a strong corner connection allowing you to add two pipes at a 90 degree angle and one essential pipe vertically. It is designed to natively fit EMT Conduit which is readily available at your local hardware store. The 1/2" connector variant includes 3/4" connectors and three adapter shims for building with 1/2" EMT Conduit. The 90 degree angled pipe fitting includes an inside and outside piece that clamp together with two nuts and bolts. The clamp design allows you to quickly change a connection while building or remove and reuse the connectors in a future project.Both pieces are designed with a pocket feature that locks the nut into place when tightening, this allows for a one tool assembly no matter which piece the nuts are on. I bought 2 of these to make the 2 corners on an awning I am trying to make. Bear in mind that you cannot fit the vertical pipe unless the 2 screws are loose. This results in a gigantic juggling act as you try and hold the job in place and the 3 pipes. All at the same time as trying to tighten up the screws. My situation was made even worse by using 1/2 pipe with the plastic clip on adapters. Once together it is flimsy and easily just pulls apart. My expensive order is starting to look like a a waste of money. I could have done better at Home Depot and breaking out a driil. I am beginning to feel that all this stuff is very overpriced and I got sucked in by some YT videos and a slick website. Not happy.
We built a 20' x 14' shade cover for the garden. All of the various adapters made this so much easier to complete. It has been up a month at this point and survived a few pretty good storms. These things make it easy. I picked up the modeling kit for future builds to make sure we don't miss a piece or two.
I used 90 Degree Structural Pipe Connectors and 3/4 inch EMT conduit pipes to create 4 arch trellises. Most of them worked fine except one which got stuck. I just wish the screw heads were of better quality, preferably hex head screws. The one which got stuck can't be removed due to drill bit not working on it anymore as it does not have well developed edges and gets worn out really fast. I had to drill a hole between 2 conduits and add a long screw to secure them together (see pictures). Other than that, I am quite happy with the product.
