Maker pipe saved my tomatoes!

I have a raised bed that I use for tomatoes and as soon as they started to ripen this summer, I would wake up to 1 or 2 ripe ones with chunks eaten out of them by squirrels. Inspired by the garden structures in the maker pipe projects book, I decided to build a cage around the bed. With only a pipe cutter and a 5 mm allen wrench, I was able to put this together in a weekend once I got the right parts. (This took a couple of shipments due to my measure once, cut twice technique.) The next project is a compost bin. Great product and fast shipping!

Maker Pipe: more than metal fittings!

The product itself is sturdy, and the customer support is super communicative and helpful. I love the minis, as well as the packs (starter pack, maker pack, etc) - they are really great for the cost, and help pinpoint what you actually need for a project or let you get a feel for how things work without investing too much up front. The forum is cool too; you don't usually get a whole community with a product, especially when ordering online, but Maker Pipe has gone above and beyond to provide that at no additional cost. Maker Pipe is the gold standard, and I wish more small businesses provided you with so many supportive features when you purchased their goods!

Project On Hold

I haven't yet started my prototype. Project is on hold. While I wasn't counting on the mini hinges being functionally mobile, I had hoped they were. This in order to achieve the variable angles of a custom design--helpful for functional structures. But for basic design and determining scale and proportion of structures, I think the minis will be helpful and are certainly a real value.

Good products & good service. Great ideas.

I haven't built nor planned anything yet with maker pipe connectors, but will in the next month or so. I need to build an awning over a garage door to keep out wind-blown rain. The whole thing will be about 12' wide by ~ 3' high. The frame will stay up permanently, but the actual awning fabric will come down in the winter months.

I think the updates of projects from your customers are pretty neat.
